Coroners Office
The Coroners Office may be involved if the death occurred at
home and the deceased had not seen their Doctor for two weeks. If the death
were sudden say by an accident. If an industrial disease had been prominent
which may have been a contributing factor to the death. If a person died in
hospital and had only been in a short while, during an operation or within
24 hours of an operation.
Referral to the Coroners Office will be fully investigated
and may well be referred back to the Doctor. If the Coroner pursues the
matter and a post mortem is carried out, the documentation will be issued by
the Coroners Office before the registrar is allowed to register the death.
