CORONERS OFFICE
The Coroners Office may be involved if the death
occurred at home and the deceased had not seen their Doctor for two weeks. If
the death were sudden say by an accident. If an industrial disease had been
prominent which may have been a contributing factor to the death. If a person
died in hospital and had only been in a short while, during an operation or
within 24 hours of an operation.
Referral to the Coroners Office will be fully
investigated and may well be referred back to the Doctor. If the Coroner
pursues the matter and a post mortem is carried out, the documentation will be
issued by the Coroners Office before the registrar is allowed to register the
death.
